Congress Venue:
Valencia Conference Centre

The Conference will take place at the Valencia Conference Centre, a building designed by Sir Norman Foster, equipped with the most advanced technologies. Both the original architectural conception and the functional versatility of the project have established the Conference Centre as a new symbol in the city. Its quality has been recognized by several international awards such as the one given by the prestigious Royal Institute of British Architectures (RIBA) in 1999 or the latest AITC that considered the building as the World’s Best Convention Centre for 2010.

Apart from it’s three auditoriums, there are numerous committee rooms for smaller meetings or workshops, a press room, VIP lounge, an extensive glazed exhibition area, café, restaurant, car park, gardens, a leisure area and a long list of smaller spaces. The main auditorium has capacity for 1.481 persons and has the possibility to be connected simultaneusly to auditoriums II and III by a video and sound network, therefore accomodating a total audience of 2.250 persons.

The Valencia Conference Centre is situated on the major access route into the city from the north east. The Avenida de las Cortes Valencianas is one of the main avenues leading into the modern metropolis of Valencia. The Centre is ideally located. It is close to the international airport of Manises and has excellent links into the city centre by metro, bus and tram.

The Conference Centre has also disabled access to every part of the building.

ECO-PROJECT

Innovation, efficiency and respect for the environment are the defining features of the project which allows the Centre to hold a wide range of conferences and other events without harming its natural surroundings.

The concept of a building which takes advantage of Valencia´s splendid natural light, the Mediterranean climate and which must fit into an urban landscape are good starting points to develop a space that also has to contribute to the economic and social progress of its milieu.

These have been the cornerstones for the creation of the Valencia Conference Centre (VCC) whose main purpose is to attract domestic and international event tourism whilst maintaining a heightened awareness of the environment.
